Our clients had an existing conservatory they wanted to change to a modern sunroom extension.
A member of our design team visited their home to carry out the initial survey and brainstorm ideas about how the new sunroom would look.
Once the details were finalised, our team planned out the entire project.
The old conservatory was carefully removed and the main body of the new sunroom extension was constructed from a steel skeleton, with a steel ridge beam installed to bear the load of the new slate roof.
Scaffolding was needed due to the height of the new room, and allowed our electrician to safely install the new wiring.
We removed the wall at the front of the project site and installed a floor to ceiling glass wall made of shaped windows and sliding patio doors. This allows plenty of natural light to flow into the property, and offers views of the beautiful gardens.
Opening casement windows were installed at either side of the new room, and sit on new concrete cills.
Symmetrical Velux windows were built into both sides of the new insulated roof and the vaulted ceiling was finished with fresh plasterwork.
A mix of PVC and timber roofline was chosen to match the rest of the property, and was installed with built-in downlights.
The dwarf wall was re-rendered to complete the look of this modern sunroom extension.
